Steak and Eggs Brunch

Marinated sirloin portion with scrambled eggs with salsa and cornmeal pancakes. The pancakes are made with jiffy mix. The sirloin was marinated for about fifteen hours, and was all cooked at once. Part was taken off for breakfast, and the extra eggs and pancakes will be lunch and dinner. In about fifteen minutes, I have gotten all of my cooking done for the day, and it is delicious.

Step 4: explore the awesome

A simple tenderloin with one scrambled egg bathed in salsa. Served with perrier and coffee. Steak, especially breakfast cuts, cook within three minutes. While it cooks you scramble the egg and throw it in the pan after the steak and turn off the heat. The eggs also clean the meat out of the pan and pick up more flavor. Salsa provides vegetable servings so load it on. This is a good breakfast for a work day. Have it at 7 AM. If not quite full, have half an orange with breakfast, half at ten, and you're set until lunch with about five minutes of work.

Step 3: remember to be healthful

Bacon is good, but it's gross. If you don't think it's gross for most reasons, think about it very carefully. The gross factor for bacon is really, really high. It drips in the fact of animals, and the shreds of flesh are tied together with actual fat tissue that you chew and consume. If you're nearing the end of your life now, you might not care, but it would suck to cause your imminent death via breakfast, so think about that, older people. If you must have bacon, cook a slice or two only at a time, and not every day. Ideally, realize that it's gross.

Step 1: Cookware

Good cookware is the first place to start if you want a good meal. Odds are, people spend as much if not more time scrubbing mediocre cookware than they do cooking. Your cookware set should cost about as much as one month's rent, within reason. With good nonstick cookware, you can have your items cleaned and ready for re-use in the time it would take to rinse something out for a dishwasher. If you spend minutes scrubbing a $7 pan like I used to do, you will hate cooking and want to eat out more often, which is more costly of your time and money.

Step 2: the coffee

Good coffee is essential to the breakfast experience. It brews while you cook, so start there before you begin your preparation. If you become talented at kitchen efficiency, your coffee will be done just as your breakfast is ready. The coffee pictured here was made in a French press, which requires more attention than percolation for a difference that is not always noticeable, unless you drink plain coffee frequently.
